Sorority Recruitment Tips: 10 Ways to Make You Stand Out

Writer: AOIIAOII

It’s that time of year again!!! Bid day is right around the corner, and AOII can’t wait to add to our sisterhood!

Before the best day of the year, though, may come one of the most hectic weeks, Fall Recruitment. We’ve all been there before, the week is busy and may be emotional, and so to ease all of your jitters, we’ve come up with a few tips to make Rush Week the best ever!

1.) This is the one you’ve heard a thousand times before, but I’ll say it again, BE YOURSELF! This is the sure way to find the home that is perfect for you!

2.) Two Words: Waterproof Mascara

3.) Rest. Rest. Rest. It’s so important to get a good night’s sleep before each round. You will thank yourself later!

4.) Hydrate! Water will make your mind sharper and your eyes brighter!

5.) Go into each conversation hoping to make a friend. That goes for other PNMs and Sorority women! Recruitment week is a great time to make lasting connections. You will meet some of the women who will be there for you throughout the rest of your college experience!

6.) Eat breakfast!!! You’ll need the energy!

7.) Prepare your outfits before each day! Nothing says stress like rushing to figure out what you will wear before each round.

8.) Relax! The sorority women you will talk to in each party are just as nervous as you are. Remember that!

9.) Don’t be afraid to ask questions! This is what recruitment is for, and it’s the easiest way to find out what each organization is all about!

10.) Have FUN!!! The last rule and the most important! Rush week is all about making memories and friends that will last a lifetime. It’s the best decision you can make at JSU!

We will see you soon, Class of 2022! AOII can’t wait to meet you!
